I've been wondering if Dee flubbed a line when she said "You didn't do anything wrong." I know she's a pro, but even pros have a moment now and then. And given that they don't stop tape unless somebody dies these days, it's not completely out of the realm of possibility. If the line was supposed to be "You didn't do anything that can't be forgiven" or "You didn't do anything intentionally" or something like that, it would make more sense. And based on what has been said about the scene, it would have changed the whole dynamic. I'm not saying that's what happened, but that line just seems so out of character for Marlena that I have a hard time believing Dee wouldn't have tried to change it or soften it, or something. So, the very nature of the line and the actress who spoke it tends to make me think it was a flub that they just left in and kept going. |

It wouldn't surprise me. Even in context it didn't make sense. Of course, this is a time they should've reshot. It may have just been a flubbed line but it changed the content of the conversation comPletely. |

Yeah or maybe the line was "You didn't mean to do anything wrong". But if that's the case, someone should have noticed and fixed it. |

I have to go with the flubbed line theory. Although I have a hard time believing DH would make such a huge mistake and they wouldn't do a re-take, it's easier to believe than a writer would actually write such a ridiculous statement. It ruined the entire scene and messed with my concentration because I just kept thinking "What? Why would Marlena say that?" |

I do wish Sami would STOP saying, "You don't get to ..." whatever--e.g., to Marlena about coming to see her without asking for permission. It seems to have replaced her-- what is it? 16 year-run?-- mantra: "And it's all YOUR/Marlena's/John's/Kate's/Elvis/ ad nauseum's fault!!!" Otherwise, it was typical AS bad-acting, deep-voiced-to-show-anger with a surprising amount of stomping in such a small space. Stupid, shrieking, selfish Sami. The bright spot was the writing for Sami's responses to every single thing, all conciliatory, that Rafe said. R: "I'm sorry." S: "So you're saying this is MY fault?" R: "I love you." S: "Don't try and blame ME!" R: "I want to fight for our family." S: "You don't get to accuse ME of beastrutting with our mortal enemy!!!" Well, I hyperbolize a bit. More bright spots: no Dippi. I give them this combi-name because they behave more like a couple than father/daughter. No Magic, and it pains me to say this is a bright spot, but I can't bear to see them as they are now. MArlena's nothing wrong comment: not a big fan of hers except in Doc mode, so I am going with her trying to comfort her daughter (yes) who is, after all, there for help and confessing all, and within the framework of her knowing about the rutting beastsex. That, rather than she's always coddling Saint Carrie and slighting Sami (although she should simply cut that disloyal bitch completely off). Did she borrow one of Kate's necklaces today? The Segways: groaningly bad! Mad and Brady are a complete bust rolling around naked, mush less doing THIS shit! Much better would have been Nicole and Abby happen upon them because Mad and Brad are rolling one last time and THEY zoom around until Jack joins them on his and they all ride out the gate together. The three best actors could have made it work..... Nah, even I don't believe that. |

I. love. this. I couldn't place where the "you did nothing wrong" thing was bothering me from, then I remembered that it was an "Outside the Lines" episode. Gary Neal, a San Antonio Spurs guard, was tried for rape when he was a college student. The incident involved him and a friend allegedly running a train on a really drunk girl. He was acquitted by the jury, and he said in an interview that he had done nothing wrong. Which did bug me, because it wasn't like a totally made-up story, apparently the issue was consent. Not being guilty of a crime doesn't necessarily mean one "did nothing wrong." Now where am I going with this? Nowhere, except to say that let's all be grateful this story isn't about Rafe and Austin running a train on Sami. |

It would have been funnier if Madison clocked Brady with that vase. He'd deserve it for sneaking up on her like that. He could have been a rapist! Who does such a thing? Brady is setting Madison up for a FALL because the next time something like that happens -- when it's NOT Brady sending the text message -- Madison WILL be attacked. And it will ALL be Brady's fault because he desensitized her to such shenanigans. She should have been angry with Brady, and should NOT want to canoodle with him. At least, not after doing that. With that said: Madison does not LOVE Brady. Brady does not LOVE Madison. Each LOVES fucking the other. There's a BIG difference, MarDar. You CAN'T write romance, unless it's with Jarlena. Speaking of those two: "We could just stay right here -- we could even sleep here if we wanted to." I know, Marlena. John knows, too. Because your townhouse JUST. HAS. ONE. ROOM. You both HAVE to stay right there. You both HAVE to sleep right there. This isn't a romantic suggestion or a hint of spontaneity in your relationship. This is an indicator of how CHEAP Ken Corday is. That he would rather have a thousand actors on the show and cut the production values. And when you do that, you can easily make rants like that one I just made. Any time a couple suggests something like Marlena just suggested, we instead see the TRUTH behind the sentiment. The BEHIND THE SCENES aspect of such a sentiment. And that breaks "fourth wall" that TV producers hold so sacred. We no longer believe in the fiction because we're distracted by the behind-the-scenes truth. |

Just watched this episode. Some observations. The segway scene was sooooo fucking stupid. Why was Marlena wearing a Mr. T starter kit? Austin is a bad drunk! |
